Day Services

Through its involvement with the community, Stewarts has developed quality day services that meet the ongoing, changing needs of people with intellectual disabilities. Our experience of service provision, the expertise and dedication of our staff and the on-going support given by our multidisciplinary team ensures excellence in the services that we provide and continuous development of our programmes to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients.

Aim

The aim of Stewarts Day Services is to provide a quality service to clients from Stewarts Residential / Community Services and clients attending from their homes. The service is cognitive of the individual needs of the clients, both in structure and delivery of service. The staffing and accommodation is of the highest quality allowing the service users develop their full potential, physically, mentally, socially and educationally.

Objectives

  • To provide a comprehensive programme for all clients attending day service cognitive of their individual needs
  • To provide a well trained and motivated staff to deliver the programmes to clients through continuous staff training programmes
  • To provide sufficient staff to client ratios
  • To provide quality accommodation and resources to ensure optimum delivery of individual programmes
  • To comply with Stewarts Hospital Health & Safety Statement in all areas of day services
  • To work with the multidisciplinary team to deliver a comprehensive service to all clients
  • To provide the required day service programmes at the most convenient location for the service users as pertaining to where they reside, if possible.
  • To provide the necessary transportation to enable clients to get to their day service
  • To continue to explore and develop better work practices in all areas of day services
