Stewarts Foundation is now working to develop a new model of social interaction, in an integrated community development in Balgaddy in West Dublin. Featuring Primary Schools, Adult Education and Training facilities, as well as Residential and Retail accommodation; this new development is being built as part of an overall development containing 254 privately owned residential units. This village will offer residents the freedom to live in the community while operating within the support system of the Foundation.
The completed development will span 28.6 acres in total and will feature generous allocations of green and recreational spaces including a central “village green.” The first and pivotal facility, a new Resource Centre is now under construction and will be fully functional in 2008.

This project will enable us to build a new model of engagement for people with intellectual disability, working with the existing and the emerging communities, celebrating difference, sharing experiences and working for the benefit of all.
